McAuley Award
Catherine McAuley founded the Sisters of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland in 1831. The Sisters worked tirelessly everywhere they went, educating children and adults, and beginning the tradition of service that continues today.
Notre Dame High School is one of five co-educational high schools in the United States sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. The school was built in 1955 and graduated its first class in June of 1956.
Mercy secondary schools are committed to meeting the needs of young men and women. Education is a vital component of the works of the Sisters of Mercy and their co-ministers.
It is with that commitment and need for giving back that we felt compelled to honor those in the community who did just that. The McAuley Dinner, now in its 16th year, honors the selfless work of individuals, who like Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy, supports the education at Notre Dame High School.
